MOTHER OF POLITICAL PRISONER NURBOL ONERKHAN APPEALS TO U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE ANTONY BLINKEN AND PORTUGUESE FOREIGN MINISTER AUGUSTO SANTOS SILVA REQUESTING THEIR HELP IN FREEING HER SON

I am the mother of civil activist Nurbol ONERKHAN — Ogiz NURKHAMIL,. On 4 May 2021, despite his bad health (heart disease), my son’s house arrest was replaced with detention in the pre-trial detention facility and he was arbitrarily imprisoned.
This is very dangerous for his life.

My son, on the basis of his Constitutional rights, participated in peaceful rallies, in challenges. And he is guilty for expressing his civil position.

I am asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Augusto Santos Silva, as well as the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, to facilitate the release of my son.

I am worried about my son’s health. He is not guilty of anything!
I demand human rights to be respected!
